I had been thinking for some time that I wanted to offer a new product to my business, I wanted to showcase some of the wonderful resources we have on offer in Wales

In my quest to provide quality hand crafted pieces of furniture I began researching businesses in Wales that have the same ethos that I adopt. I wanted to purchase my materials from predominantly family run businesses.
My research took me to a wonderful timber centre on an old Forestry Commission Site in Wentwood Forest between Usk and Newport in the heart of the last remaining part of the Great Forest of Gwent. Wentwood Timber Centre is a family run business offering home grown hardwood.

This fabulous find offers sustainable woodland Oak that is kiln dried, seasoned and milled. Oak offers durability and strength thus making it a perfect material for my furniture. Every piece of Oak that I buy can be traced back to it's owner a huge majority of their logs come from South East Wales.

While searching for upholstery fabric I was wanting to source my fabric as close to my workshop in Pembrokeshire as possible, this area being very close to my heart, I was delighted to be introduced to Melin Tregwynt a wonderful 3 generational family run woollen mill in the Hamlet of Tregwynt, a woollen mill has stood on this site since 1819 the present family having bought the mill in 1912.

All the fabric that I buy from Melin Tregwynt is upholstery grade and comes completely fire retardant.
​
So having sourced my materials solely in Wales and as near to my workshop as possible I went about designing and making pieces of handcrafted furniture to complement Homes,Hotels, Guest Houses, B & B's& Holiday Cottage etc. Initially I have designed Headboards, dressing table stools and footstools, however I can design and craft any bespoke piece of furniture to suit your style and taste including scatter cushions etc. I can also offer frame making if you would prefer to supply and use your own fabric to match existing decor.

Please do look in my gallery to see some of the pieces I have made for existing clients, in the case of headboards I can carve a plague to sit in the centre of the headboard frame to incorporate your business initials or indeed your own initials if for your home,the headboard in my gallery shows the company initials of Melin Tregwynt.
